THE EGYPTIAN MAU CLUB’S FIRST PRESIDENT
The Egyptian Mau first arrived in the UK in late 1998 when Melissa returned from America bringing with her a group of beautiful Maus - the rest is history!
2008 is the tenth anniversary of the breed’s arrival, since when Maus have come such a long way. The breed has gained recognition with the GCCF; Maus successfully progressed through Preliminary and Provisional levels to reach Championship Status on June 1st 2007; our first Grand Champion and Grand Premier titles have been awarded and the breed is enjoying great success both as an intelligent and affectionate pet as well as a force to be reckoned with on the show bench.
In recognition of Melissa’s contribution to the breed and our club and to thank her for her vision and support, it was the unanimous decision of the committee to propose she becomes the Egyptian Mau Club’s first President. The members at the Annual General Meeting on June 8th 2008 ratified this proposal unanimously.
